Hey Diddle Diddle by Paul Dehn

Hey Diddle Diddle

Hey diddle diddle,
The physicists fiddle,
The Bleep jumped over the moon,
The little dog laughed to see such fun
And died the following June.

I was trying to find the book I originally read this in many years ago in childhood and thought I would try co-pilot. It didn’t find the book, but did offer to write one based on the opening line:

Hi diddle diddle, the physicists fiddle,
    With equations and theories galore,
The particles spin, in a quantum grin,
And the cosmos reveals so much more.

The atoms collide, with nowhere to hide,
    As forces of nature convene,
In the dance of the stars, and the pull of Mars,
    Lies a universe largely unseen.

So hi diddle diddle, let’s solve this riddle,
As the physicists play their sweet tune,
For the secrets they find, in the vastness of mind,
May just take us to the moon.
