I know I should have removed the delicious crunchy skin from the chicken breast, but I didn’t (read: crunchy & delicious). I don’t feel too bad about it though, as I’ve been doing really good following my diet plan. I also splurged and had 3 squares of dark chocolate, but didn’t feel too bad about that either as it’s been awhile since I’ve had any at all – and it was MOVIE NIGHT, after all. Prior to starting my Paleo diet plan, movie night would see me eating tons of pizza, potato chips, cookies, etc.

Stopped by the bank today and they invited us in for a lunch they were putting on for their anniversary. It was just about all carb-based food (pasta salad, roll-ups, brownies, cookies, donuts, coleslaw). I had two roll-ups and simply removed the wrappers and the cheeses, making a healthy Paleo lunch (roast beef, turkey, greens & tomatoes). I also had a small scoop of coleslaw and dug two delicious Greek olives out of the pasta salad, and passed on everything else, of course. It proved to be not only a satisfying FREE meal, but was also a great lesson on how to adapt meals out to my Paleo eating plan.

My daughter made me some fish for dinner (it was delicious except for the entire stick of butter she used to bake the fish in – a bit TOO much butter!) I added a bowl of microwaved frozen mixed veggies to the meal to round out my day of eating.

3 pieces of “bargain” beef, big bowl of onions & peppers, a black plum

I am going to stop eating the veggie burgers (after I finish what’s in the freezer) and maybe the cottage cheese (once I finish up what I have). Something gave me a little bit of heartburn after lunch yesterday and I think one or the other of those was the culprit. I have suffered from terrible, chronic heartburn for years but have not had ANY at all since starting my Paleo diet – until today. Also, I will never again buy or eat frozen onions & peppers – they were terrible – there is nothing like the fresh raw version!

I’ve been doing this for about 2 weeks now. Not very long, I know, but I have never felt better in my entire life. I have tons of energy, my brain fog and depression are gone, my allergies better, and (as I said above) I have not suffered any heartburn or digestive complaints. The Paleo Plan is fantastic! I have also gone down a size and lost 5 pounds. Thank you Mark Sisson, Robb Wolf, and especially, David from http://davidisfat.wordpress.com !

Amazon Introduces New Kindle Fire!

Following up on the story I posted the other day regarding speculation that Amazon might be looking to buy Netflix’s streaming service wherein I mentioned that Amazon was preparing to make an exciting announcement…

Amazon has announced the availability of their new Kindle Fire device which is positioned to compete with Apple’s iPad (and Barnes & Noble’s full color Nook device!) I am very excited about this device as I have been struggling over which e-reader to possibly purchase. I am a very loyal Amazon customer but have been strongly considering the B&N full color Nook device because…well, it’s in color. And you can use it to browse the web, watch YouTube videos, check email, etc. However, I found it to be a bit cost prohibitive. The iPad was also VERY tempting, but even MORE cost prohibitive, and I am not at all crazy about using iTunes. So, I really had my eye on the Nook.

Now, Amazon has announced the creation of the Kindle Fire. It can do everything the other devices can and then some, as it includes free storage on Amazon’s Cloud – a place I like to think of as heavenly. The new Kindle Fire even has a really cool name. And, the best part is the price – just $199.00! Compare that to the iPad at around $599.00 or the Nook at $250.00!

Awesomeness at Only $199.00!

Check out the Kindle Fire, Full Color 7″ Multi-touch Display, Wi-Fi today on Amazon.Com and let me know what you think!
